Ella Boyce

Architectural Assistant
ella@chalkarchitects.co.uk

Ella joined Chalk after graduating from Plymouth University. Growing up in a small countryside town, surrounded by architecture of varying ages and character, she developed a strong appreciation for the connection between people and place. This early curiosity about how communities live, interact, and shape their environments has evolved into a commitment to human-centred design.

Ella’s architectural approach is rooted in empathy - understanding how people live, feel, and move through space. She believes good design begins with listening and research, responding sensitively to both the physical and emotional needs of users. Through thoughtful spatial strategies, Ella aims to create environments that are not only functional but deeply enriching to those who experience them. This keen interest in the interaction between people and place continues to fuel her passion for travel, most recently spending several months living in Indonesia. She also enjoys long walks in the English countryside or along the coast. Outside the studio, Ella enjoys anything creative, from cooking to drawing and illustrating, and can often be found at a concert or music festival, or planning her next trip away.
